#1 of things we hate

It was brought to my attention by a friend of mine, who just so happens to be one the many proud LBTG people of pride that a young man, not too far from my age, was attacked for showing pride by going to a festival dedicated to that LBTG pride.

He then directed me to a link on Youtube. I watched it, and almost immediately became upset, puzzled, and felt really bad for the victim attacked.

The one thing that puzzled me was, "Why is there about 5 straight guys at this event in the first place?"

Did they think he was too pretty? Did they try to flirt with him only to be embarrassed that it was a dude?
The video doesn't show me that the victim tried to piss them off in any way. It just shows where they all at some point started circling him.
They started up with words, and then decided to punch, kick, and injure the guy.

WHY is this even happening???        WHY is no one trying to stop the fight!!?!

Being Gay, Transsexual, Bi-sexual, Lesbian should not win you a beat down. It shouldn't even win much of a audience, considering that it isn't big deal. People are entitled to their preferences, opinions, beliefs. So why is it a big deal that people cannot be entitled to their sexuality and still be treated like people, human beings?

In my opinion, I give full blown kudos to the guy, who instead of sensing the tension and running, decided to defend himself. I like him. That is what strong people are made of. However, I feel bad and I feel like he got cheated out of being able to defend himself fairly when it became 5 vs. 1. In no fight, should that ever happen.

In no way, should violence over sexuality happen.
